Thank you for your loyalty to Delcampe when it comes to your purchases of collectibles. In the coming weeks, the way Delcampe fees are applied will be changing.

If this is something of interest to you, Sébastien Delcampe explains all the changes and their benefits on video over on our YouTube channel: click here

These positive changes have been made to allow the Delcampe site to comply with the new legal obligations, and to continue its business offering a high quality service to collectors around the world!

What are the main changes?

  • Platform fees will be deducted from the purchase price at the time of payment by the buyer. This means that on the item presentation page, you’ll see the total price of the item, including commission, and no hidden surprises. This formula will be more transparent for everyone concerned. Thanks to the Delcampe system (PayPal or Mangopay), payment will be automatically split between the seller and Delcampe.
    • As you are probably aware, our income comes from these payments, and that’s why payments to the seller off-site have no longer been authorised since 16 January.
  • Club+ Bronze & Silver paid memberships will be phased out! But the good news is that all members can enjoy 100 free email alerts! The Club+ Gold destined for sellers will become an option in their Store Plus store.
  • The PayPal system will be upgraded to offer you, as the case may be*, new payment methods such as Google Pay, Apple Pay or 4x interest-free payment.
  • In future, only shipping fees can be charged to you by sellers. We took the decision to eliminate unnecessary handling fees. In fact, buyers have complained regularly about opaque and at times even abusive management or processing fees. To improve price transparency, it will no longer be possible for sellers to charge any additional fees, apart from reasonable shipping costs of course, as stated in the sales conditions.

When will this become effective?

The system changeover will start in a few weeks’ time, and we’ll give you a more precise date shortly. Until then, business continues as usual.

What do you have to do?

The changeover will be automatic, so on D-Day you won’t have to do a single thing.

If you have any questions

  1. “In future, only shipping fees can be charged to you by sellers” So that could mean that ‘some’ sellers/dealers will put their prices up to cover their handling of the items we purchase… I must admit I have bought a few really decent items from Delcampe sellers, as New Zealand is too far away for our dealers to even try to get items for us…

There are some items that appear under the subject of ‘Lusitania’ that I am pretty sure are reproductions of the original items… mainly coming out of France and now Italy… magazines or newspapers that should be showing a slight tinge of “oldé” are pristine… after 109-years… And as for the guy who wants €1,900 for the medallion he claims as English which is actually the German medallion… I do get very angry about these people trying to ‘gouge money’ off those who may not know better… OK, Sandy will now “pull her head in” she has made her points – I think ? Bestest to you all ;-)…

  2. Hi,
With your rollout of new procedures, has there been any change regarding the blocking of accounts for many of us in the USA because of the South Dakota vs. Wayfair case?
