Thank you for your loyalty to Delcampe when it comes to your sales of collectibles. In the coming weeks, the way Delcampe fees are applied will be changing.

If this is something of interest to you, Sébastien Delcampe explains all the changes and their benefits on video over on our YouTube channel: click here

These positive changes have been made to allow the Delcampe site to comply with the new legal obligations, and to continue its business offering a high quality service to collectors and professional sellers around the world!

What are the main changes?

  • Commission for sellers is set to come to an end.  They will no longer have to assess the amount of commission to be paid when determining the price of their item, and will be able to choose a fairer price for all. (Sellers who wish to review their prices will be able to do so easily thanks to multiple changes. Delcampe will let you use this feature free of charge for a period of X months, a few days before the launch of the new system).
  • Platform fees will be deducted directly from the sales price at the time of payment by the buyer. This means that on the item presentation page, the buyer will see the total price of the item, including commission. This formula will be more transparent for everyone concerned. Payment for the purchase will transit via the Delcampe system (PayPal & Mangopay) and platform fees will be deducted at the time of payment to the seller’s account.
    • As you are probably aware, our income comes from these payments, and that’s why payments off-site have no longer been authorised since 16 January.
  • New memberships for our sellers based on their store size. Every day, you put thousands of amazing collectibles up for sale… but they are soon lost in a sea of millions of unsold old items. The site contains a huge number of items, making it difficult for your buyers to find what they’re looking for. In addition, this has a significant storage cost on our servers, as well as adversely affecting the search engine ranking for your sales… and thus their success! Subscribing to a store with fewer than 1,000 items will be free for all members. For larger stores, you can check the prices applied on the dedicated page.

A Store Plus option on your store will replace the current Club+ Gold membership.

To find out more about how these new memberships work, read this article for clear, detailed information.

  • The PayPal system will be upgraded to offer your buyers, as the case may be*, new payment methods such as Google Pay, Apple Pay or 4x interest-free payment.
  • In future, only shipping fees can be charged to buyers. Since there will not be any commissions to pay on sales, we took the decision to eliminate handling fees that were no longer necessary (upon the launch of the new system). In fact, buyers have often complained about opaque and at times even abusive management or processing fees. To improve price transparency, it will no longer be possible to charge any additional fees, apart from reasonable shipping costs of course.

When will this become effective?

The system changeover will start in a few weeks’ time, and we’ll give you a more precise date shortly. Until then, business continues as usual.

What do you have to do?

The changeover will be automatic, so on D-Day you won’t have to do anything initially.

We’ll let you know when we can set up memberships for your store size.

For your information, the store membership will be allocated to you free of charge, depending on the size of your store, for a minimum period of one month. You can either maintain your subscription, i.e. all your items for sale on Delcampe, or reduce the number of items in your store and request a smaller (or a free!) membership, or lastly take out a bigger membership if you wish to put more items on sale. A dedicated membership page will be made available on the day when the new system is launched. We will also keep you informed of the launch date by email. For more information, please see our dedicated article.

  1. I have just watched the presentation on upcoming changes and read all the recent emails. After moaning and groaning previously now i know the facts it does seem a good but very brave move.
Looking at what my new shop charge would be it is less than the fees I pay at the moment. I am concerned that additional fees shown to buyers could reduce sales but time will tell. I don’t subscribe to gold+ so it would be difficult to make a reduction on all my sale prices (1800+)but I see that has been covered by a free month to adjust prices. Its well worth watching the presentation.

  2. Good morning, the changes that have occurred in the prices of my items on Delcampe are not OK, because when listing my items I took into account your handling fees. And now I have to change the prices of over 2,000 items. Is it possible to downgrade mine in bulk so that I don’t have to change them individually?
