No fewer than 26 German members of the Royal Philatelic Society London delighted 100 members and guests of the Society on 18 September with a variety of displays that both impressed and enthralled. The outstanding and superbly presented material had been brought together by Harald Krieg FRPSL, ably assisted by Dieter Michelson FRPSL.
It had been a ‘wonderful group display with a wide variety of material’ commented President of the Society, Simon Richards RDP, FRPSL. These views were echoed by Simon Martin-Redman FRPSL, Vice President of the Society, giving the Vote of Thanks, who emphasised the quality of material that had been shown, adding that he had ‘enjoyed every display, providing a cornucopia of delights’. He in particular praised the exhibitor who had included a QR code on his first page, enabling members to discover more about the subject.
The displays embraced a wide range of subjects, stamps and postal history, including attractive illustrated covers, plus fascinating insights of social history with identity cards, paid for using stamps, that enabled the holder to buy train tickets at reduced rates.
All who had displayed were presented with a certificate of appreciation, while Harald Krieg received the Society’s plaquette from Simon Richards.
