Each year The Royal Philatelic Society London announces its annual awards in various categories. Those for 2024 are as follows.
The Tapling Medal for the best article or supplement in the Society’s journal The London Philatelist was awarded to Ulf J. Lindahl FRPSL for his article ‘Restoration of the Ethiopian Posts: 1941-1952’.
The Tilleard Medal for the best afternoon display given to the Society went to Peter Chadwick FRPSL for ‘Great Britain Postal History prior to 1840’.
Two Lee Medals are awarde. The one for the best evening presentation went to Howard Hughes FRPSL for ‘Maltese Cross’, and the other, for the best Zoom presentation, went to ‘The Philatelic Congress of Great Britain’ given by Steven Harrison FRPSL.
The London Medal for exceptional services to the Society was awarded to Paul Leonard FRPSL for work within the Expert Committee, Eric Hutton FRPSL for work as a volunteer, and Alex Haimann FRPSL for creating the exhibition ‘Clash of Empires’.
The Crawford Medal is awarded for the most valuable and original contribution to the study and knowledge of philately in book form. It has been awarded to Portuguese India: Postal History and the First Issues from the ‘natives’ to 1900 by twin brothers Luis Barreiros FRPSL and Eduardo Barreiros FRPSL.
