The FIFA World Cup is an international football competition held every four years. It gathers the best football teams of the planet to name a winner, under the cheers of spectators from all over the world. Today, football has established itself as the world’s most popular sport. Conquering entire nations, the sport has no fewer than two hundred million licensed players around the world.
For the first time ever, the 2026 competition will take place in three different countries: Canada, the United States and Mexico, offering a diversity of stadiums and a unique experience for fans. It is also the first time that the tournament will count 48 teams instead of 32, increasing the number of matches and opportunities for more nations to compete.
For the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Monnaie de Paris launches a collection paying tribute to football and the localization of the competition.
