Delcampe sellers, here is the new way of working on Delcampe!
Thank you for your loyalty to Delcampe when it comes to your sales of collectibles. As of this morning, the Delcampe fee system has changed, as we previously informed you.
If this is something of interest to you, Sébastien Delcampe explains all the changes and their benefits on video over on our YouTube channel
These positive changes have been made to allow the Delcampe site to comply with the new legal obligations, and to continue its business offering a high quality service to collectors and professional sellers around the world!
What are the main changes?
- No more commission fees for sellers
You do no longer have to assess the amount of commission to be paid when determining the price of your item, and are able to choose a fairer price for all. If you wish to review your prices, you will be able to do so easily thanks to multiple changes. The website has been adapted so that you can use them for one month, even if you don’t have a Club+ Gold subscription.
• Platform fees are be deducted directly from the sales price at the time of payment by the buyer.
This means that on the item presentation page, the buyer sees the total price of the item, including platform fees. This formula is more transparent for everyone concerned. Payment for the purchase transits via the Delcampe system (PayPal & Mangopay) and platform fees are deducted at the time of payment to the seller’s account.
As you are probably aware, our income comes from these payments, and that’s why payments off-site have no longer been authorised since 16 January.
- Would you like to know more about how transaction fees are calculated? If so, please see our dedicated article.
- • The PayPal system is upgraded to offer your buyers, as the case may be*, new payment methods such as Google Pay, Apple Pay or 4x interest-free payment.
• Only shipping fees can be charged to buyers. Since there are no longer any commissions to pay on sales from 2 April, we took the decision to eliminate handling fees that are no longer necessary. In fact, buyers have often complained about opaque and at times even abusive management or processing fees. To improve price transparency, it is longer possible to charge any additional fees, apart from reasonable shipping costs of course.
The switch to the new system begins on 2 April 2024. Until then, transactions have been carried out using the old system. You will still have to pay commission fees on sales at the beginning of May if you sold one or more items on 1 April.
What do you have to do?
The change is automatic. You don’t have to do anything at first.
Afterwards, we’ll keep you posted about the date of implementation of memberships linked to the size of your shop and the end of Club+ memberships.
